My yellow lab Emmy was like a child to me. I knew the moment I met Dr. John Harvey that I no longer had to be concerned. Dr. Harvey came in and introduced himself to me, then knelt down and got on the floor to meet Emmy. He spent time getting to know her, asking me all types of questions about her personality and health. He had her tail wagging the entire time we spent there, rubbing her behind the ears, just the way she liked. Emmy was never anxious when going to see Dr. Harvey and I knew that she was in good hands when she was with him. When Emmy became very sick, Dr. Harvey went above and beyond to give us a diagnosis, and in her last couple of days, made sure that she was very comfortable. He would call us before the clinic opened and late at night to give us updates on her status. I knew that she was being carefully watched and well taken care of. Dr. Harvey is a wonderful doctor with an outstanding bedside manner.

Dr John, as my kids call him, helped us with the euthanasia of our boxer, Taos, an 11 year member of our family. My wife and kids did not want to send Taos to the “vet,” we wanted a dignified ending to a wonderful life. Dr John arranged to come to the house and let me hold her during the process. His compassion and  calming words made a difficult event so much easier. There are not too many people in this hectic, over booked world who would have been so sensitive to our needs.
